Robot with Indexing Table
In a prototype lab, no two parts are ever alike however there is still a need to accurately position the loose pieces for robotic welding. Here, a 3-dimensional, octagonal fixturing table is mounted on a multi axis rotary index table. With a basic tooling kit on hand, a fixture can be built and ready to weld long before the robot is programmed and ready to strike its first arc.
Fixture Highlights
Tab and slot design of part requires simple registration off system bores
Part is pinned directly to the fixturing table leaving free access for welding
A pair of toggle clamps are added to secure the part
Programming the robot starts with picking up the 0,0 point on the fixture
