The
most common of frames, a 4-sided box is easily fixtured
with a standard 5-sided welding table. To make setups
faster, black stop bars are bolted to the two edges of
the table to form a perfectly square frame. Welding tables
are machined flat and square 0.004" overall.
How
often does a new job come up
that's just too large for your current
welding table? With the flexibility of
a 3-dimensional welding table, angles can be attached
to the sides to act as
outriggers. This allows the welding table to hold a part
that's 6' wider than the welding table. The welder can
stand inside the frame and easily reach the center!
Squareness
is no longer a concern. All of the side
plates in this housing are located perpendicular to the
welding table and clamped in place using standard modular
fixturing components. When the run of 10 weldments is
over, the modular fixture is taken apart and is ready
for a new job.
Square
tubing for a store-shelving unit is set
into the modular fixture. If the individual parts
don't fit (too tight or too loose), chances are the part
was cut wrong at the saw. After the correct length
pieces are put into the fixture and welded,
tolerances on corner-to-corner measurements are
less than 1/32"!
