With
every bore in the Demmeler system the exact same size,
clamps can be placed anywhere they're needed. This 6'
tall stainless steel tank takes advantage of that fact
by utilizing 16 clamps per seam. With each clamp being
able to generate between 300 & 400 pounds of force,
that's over 5,000 pounds of clamping power!
Though
the actual welding time won't change between a dedicated
jig and a modular fixture, the design and build time is
cut down dramatically. A dedicated jig averages 4-6 weeks
(one customer was quoted as saying "I wish!");
a Demmeler modular fixture can be ready in 4 hours or
less. Once built, the modular fixture can easily keep
up with engineering changes.
A
Demmeler table mounted to a scissor lift helps to
bring this cab down to size. Tall, U-form spacer
blocks bolted to the sides of the table help to
square
up the weldments while also providing clamping
holes for the compensating swing clamps. When it's
time to build a different cab, the modular fixturing
is recycled.
