  Pumps come in all sizes and shapes; and, so does
modular fixturing! Stack components on top of one
another for taller parts. And with every hole the
same size, drop in a clamp anywhere.
Building a better bus starts with a better set of tooling. In this case, modular fixturing was chosen over dedicated tooling to build this bus. The reasons were simple:

A modular fixture is easier to modify should there be any last minute design changes

A dedicated fixture could take 8-10 weeks to design and deliver which could impact production schedules (modular fixturing can usually be shipped from stock).

The tooling can all be reused for a completely new design (i.e. when this model of bus is taken out of production





 
  Mountain bikes have gone high-tech and high price.
Specials are standard in this business. Changes in
design require a fixturing system that is fast, accurate
and economical. This D16 40" (1000 mm) square table
holds the main frame and the front forks.
