Modular Fixturing is a reusable set of tooling components that is used to build a fixture, taken apart, used to build another fixture, taken apart, and so on.
When we first introduced modular fixturing to the welding industry back in the early 1990’s, it was originally viewed as being ideal for prototypes, short runs, specials, non-current spares and job shop work.
As we’ve seen over the years, modular fixturing has proven itself in these areas but has also been used for many other applications:
Long term assembly tools for aircraft manufacturers (5 - 7 years without being taken apart) |
Inspection Tools |
Fixturing for High Production needs (2 shifts a day, 6 days a week without being taken apart) |
Friction Stir Welding |
Heavy Machining Fixturing |
